“How Ganesha Got His Laddoos” by Jaya Jaitly is the funniest, coolest book ever! First of all, the pictures? They’re so amazing! Thanks to illustrator Apindra Swain for her drawing and without any doubt, young readers will forget to read the words! The artwork is all Indian-style, like super fancy drawings, and it makes the whole story feel extra special. It’s like you’re getting a mini art lesson while having tons of fun with the story. Plus, we don’t usually see Indian art in any books, so it’s awesome to have that right in front of us every day.

Okay, so here’s the best part – Ganesha, the god with the elephant head, has a big problem. He LOVES laddoos (who doesn’t, right?), but people are so busy nowadays, that they forgot to offer him his favorite treat! So what does Ganesha do? He goes online! Yep, Ganesha literally goes to a computer class and learns how to order laddoos. How cool is that? It’s like mixing old-school gods with modern-day tech, and it made me giggle so much. “Miss-calling” and “on-lining” are my new favorite words!

Oh, and don’t forget Mooshika, the little mouse sidekick. He pops up on every page, dropping wisdom bombs called “gyaan bullets” – like a mouse-sized guru! And at the end, there’s space for you to draw or colour, which makes it feel like the book is your own masterpiece too. Overall, this book is totally laddoo-licious, and Ganesha shows us that learning new skills can be the tastiest way to solve problems!
